Moving Days

The past month has been filled with many changes. We packed our bags and said goodbye to our friends then headed west to Kentucky from Virginia. Needless to say this has been a big change for my kids and has required lots of preplanning to make sure that they were adequately entertained as we moved from one temporary housing situation to another and, finally, into our new home.
Kazootoys.com sure made this transition easier. Before the move I was able to figure out what toys I wanted to purchase for my kids that would entertain them during these crazy days. As always, the selection was wonderful and provided many ideas that ended up saving our sanity along the way, such as:
1. Klutz Books Art Projects
Our temporary housing units were quite small for the four of us so I needed activities that would serve us well in such tight quarters. The Shrinky Dinks and Window Art projects by Klutz were perfect for this. The kids enjoyed making their own crafts and did not make a huge mess nor require a lot of space for us to have fun together.
2. Melissa and Doug Floor Puzzles
My kids love puzzles so getting a few new ones for them to work on was an easy decision. Melissa and Doug make great products so we chose a few of their floor puzzles for our collection. My kids especially loved the Safari, Rainforest and Dinosaurs puzzles.
While I wanted the kids to have fun, I thought I could also throw in some educational activities that would pass the time in the car ride to Kentucky. These flash cards did the trick. We worked on addition, subtraction and simple multiplication while passing through West Virginia. It was the perfect distraction!
So whether you’re moving too or just need a few end of the summer items to keep your kids from getting bored in the summer heat, be sure to check out kazootoys.com for some great finds. You can also take advantage of their back to school sale by using the code “school2011” at checkout, good through September 1, 2011.
