Summer Camping

By Heather Bishara

It’s the end of June so that means school is out for the summer! It also means that we are gearing up for our first camping trip with the kids. I, admittedly, am not a camper so I have no idea what kind of gear we need to make this a successful trip. To get some ideas, I checked out Kazootoys.com and found a slew of great items that are sure to be a hit on our trip. Here’s what I found:

1.    One Touch Beach Tent by Pacific Play Tents

One thing about camping that I find intimidating is setting up the tents. I have heard from more than one parent that this can be a very time consuming and irritating project if you don’t have the right equipment. This tent by Pacific Play Tents looks like it avoids all the fuss by being super easy to set up. It is also wind and sun resistant and has a water resistant floor to make camping in the elements fun instead of potentially spoiling our trip.

2.    Kids Camping Set by Learning Resources

My kids are really excited to use special camping gear when we hit the campsite so I’ve been looking for a set that includes some really neat items that they will love. This camping set by Learning Resources includes a battery-powered lantern and stove (requires 2 AA batters, not included), water bottle, working compass watch, cup, pan, shovel, first aid kit and utensil. The only problem is that I will need to get two because my boys will not want to share these great camping tools!

3.    Big Bug Magnifying Jar by Insect Lore

This is a fabulous bug collecting jar that the boys will love and that I cannot wait to use myself! Simply catch a bug, put it in the jar, and screw the magnifying lid on using the kid friendly twistable handle to see your bug 3Xs its actually size. The jar is shatterproof, scratch resistant and has a built in tote handle that makes it easily portable and safe to use.

These are just some of the camping items I found on Kazoo Toys’ website. There’s such a great selection that anyone going camping this summer will be well prepared to have some great outdoor fun with their family!
