Get Outside and Play!

Ask any child and they will tell you that one of their most favorite things to do is play outside. My kids are constantly asking me if they can go outside whether is raining, snowing or the sun is shining. Even on the messiest days I find that I can rarely say no. I love that they want to get outside and run around and I want to make sure that their love of the outdoors follows them into adulthood so that they can grow into happy and healthy adults.
This spring, I’m hoping to foster that love of playing outdoors with a purchase of a few items from Kazoo Toys that will keep them moving all summer long:
1. Light Blue Microlight by Micro Scooter
My little guy just turned four and I’m looking to get him his very own scooter. Until now he’s had to beg to use his older brothers scooter until, inevitably, he was chased off of it. This scooter by Micro Scooter is the perfect introductory scooter for a beginner. It has reduced height handlebars and a rear wheel guard spring loaded break to help him regulate his speed. He’s going to be thrilled!
2. Scoot 2 Skateboard by Radio Flyer
I admit I’ve been a little apprehensive about letting my six year old have a skateboard but he’s been begging for a long time now and I’m finally ready to give in. That’s why this Scoot 2 Skateboard is on my list. It’s a trainer of sorts for kids to go from scooter to skateboard with a little help along the way. The handle allows them to get the feel of skateboard without going full out. When they are ready (or when Mom is ready!), the handle comes off and it’s the real deal.
3. Dodge Tag Dodgeball Game by Diggin
When I was in elementary and middle school my favorite outdoor game was dodge ball. I think this feeling must run in our family given that my two boys already love throwing balls at each other while running around the yard. With this Dodge Tag set, they’ll be able to channel that energy into a legitimate outdoor game that will prepare them for the coming years of dodge ball games in school.
It’s fun to imagine my kid’s sweaty little faces running in for water after a great scooter trip around the neighborhood. Now only if the rain will stop long enough for us to actually do this we’d be in business!!
