Proud to be an American

By Heather Bishara

This is a week in American history that I think we can all say we will never forget. As a parent, I want to make sure my kids know what it’s like to be an American and learn about all the things that we hold dear in a fun, light manner. Kazoo Toys has a great selection of American related toys and games that are the perfect way to introduce American history, geography and symbolism to children. They are the perfect way to get kids excited about our country and understand more about the world around us.

Here are a few of our favorites:

1.      Great American Presidents Floor Puzzle by Crocodile Creek

This puzzle is a great way to introduce kids to our American Presidents from George Washington all the way to Barack Obama. It’s 200 pieces and includes information and facts about US History and the Presidents. It’s a wonderful way to get the whole family excited about the United States!

2.      Capitol Architectural Blocks by Haba

My little guys are really into building blocks so this set of blocks is sure to keep them busy for hours while learning a little bit about our nation’s Capitol building. There are 70 pieces in 25 different shapes that lend themselves to building many different state capitol buildings. And, of course, your little ones can get creative and build really cool buildings of their own!

3.      Americaopoly Board Game by Late for the Sky

My kids love Monopoly so I thought this version based on interesting facts about our great nation would be a wonderful addition to our game collection. Properties are based on historic places such as the Grand Canyon, the Golden Gate Bridge and Route 66. The free cash spot is the Fourth of July and the IRS can take all you own!

4.      United States Bingo Game by eeBoo

Bingo is another winner in our house and this version is perfect for my kids to get to know US geography a little bit better. Each card is filled with a different area of the United States. When all of your geographic spots are full, you yell “Bingo!” and you win the game.
