Today was the first day in a long, long time that my entire family got outside to play in the glorious sunshine. Spring-like days are finally starting to outnumber the cold ones and, with daylight savings behind us, there is more time for us to be outside with those we love.
My only regret is that I did not have the foresight to order new toys before this wonderful weather showed up. Sadly, the ones that were so fresh and new last Spring are now faded, broken or outgrown. That means this Mom needs to stock up and fast! Kazoo Toys has a great selection and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of them, such as:
My youngest is now almost four years old and is no longer interested in setting up a ball on a tee to practice hitting the baseball. However, he is not yet coordinated enough to successfully use his older brother’s regular size bat to continue playing. That’s why this Fat Bat is so wonderful. The bigger sized bat and ball make the transition for these “in between” kids easier and let’s them continue to play (and love) the game with older siblings.
This is one game that I had never heard of before but, let me tell you, it looks awesome, especially for active kids who love a good challenge. Trapp Ball is played by launching a ball high and far into the air while using a net with handles to keep it going. You can play it with a partner or on your own and there’s even one that soaks up water so that you can use it at the pool.
The Frisbee is one of those toys that stands the test of time, but that does not mean it can’t be tweaked to make it a little more fun for the kids. That’s exactly what Yomega did. Their Frisbee not only goes flying through the air, it lights up when you throw it, which makes it perfect for nighttime play as well. All you need is a little movement to make the light show begin!
No matter how old, nothing beats playing in water on a hot day. This splash table by International Playthings is a great choice if you are in the market for one. It has lights and sounds, plays nine songs, and has lots of different water activities to help your child squirt, spin, scoop and strain the day away.
Don’t let this Spring pass you by without updating your outdoor toy collection! It will only make your days outdoors that much more fun!
