Holiday Shopping Confession

I have a confession. I am one of those people who starts making my holiday shopping list in July. When I see a cute outfit or a fun toy I make a note… and sometimes I even make a purchase if I do not think the item will be there in a couple of months. So what does this say about me? Some may say that it exposes my Type A personality, but I like to think it makes me organized and prepared!
Because I love Kazoo Toys so much and have been writing this blog for them for a while now, it has been easier than usual to make my shopping list this year. Now all I have to do is make my purchases so I can sit back and really enjoy the holidays with my family.
Here are my favorites from Kazoo Toys:
Lately, my six year old has been coming to me with questions about places and people around the world. We have a globe that I can reference but it’s somehow hard for him to visualize where we live as compared to the place we are talking about. The World Treasure Hunt Map is a great tool that will help us out. I can thrown it on the floor or hang it on the wall and its big enough for us to really have a discussion about geography when the need arises.
My 3 year old has an obsession with throwing things down my basement stairs. He loves to watch as each item bounces wildly from side to side. It’s usually soft items such as Gertie Balls or stuffed animals so I am OK with this activity. Plus I get to hear his laughter, which makes my heart smile. I think this Slinky Light Up is the just the thing to add to this activity, especially because it glows in the dark so he can turn off the lights and watch it go!
I’ve been eyeing this Teaching Cash Register for some time now because I think both of my boys will get good use out of it. My six year old is obsessed with counting money and is always walking around “computing” some price of some item on a calculator. My little guy just loves to play pretend store so it’s an obvious match for him!
Elf on the Shelf by Carol Abersold
Even though our family already has an Elf on the Shelf, I added this little guy to my list of must-haves because it really is a deliciously fun Christmas activity for the whole family. I was skeptical when our elf “Barney” first arrived but he brought so much laughter and joy into our house very early on in the Christmas season last year that I cannot encourage you enough to get an Elf on the Shelf of your own. He is priceless!!
